UPSL Premier Division

Alpha Futbol Compete at the Highest Level of the UPSL Premier Division

Alpha Futbol proudly competes in the UPSL Premier Division, the highest level of competition within the United Premier Soccer League. The Premier Division features ambitious clubs from across Texas and the United States, providing a highly competitive environment for players looking to continue their development and compete at an elite amateur level.

Promotion & Relegation

The UPSL operates under a promotion and relegation system, creating meaningful competition throughout every season.

  • UPSL Premier Division – The top division where Alpha Futbol competes.

  • UPSL Division 1 – Clubs compete for promotion into the Premier Division.

  • The best-performing Division 1 clubs earn promotion to the Premier Division.

  • Lower-performing Premier Division clubs may face relegation to Division 1, depending on league structure and eligibility.

This system rewards clubs that consistently perform at a high level while maintaining a competitive pathway for developing organizations.

Why It Matters

Playing in the UPSL Premier Division means competing against some of the strongest amateur clubs in Texas, including teams from San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, the Rio Grande Valley, and other major soccer markets. Every match carries significance, as clubs battle not only for championships but also to maintain their position at the highest level of the league.

For Alpha Futbol players, this provides:

  • Elite weekly competition.

  • A direct pathway into senior men's soccer.

  • Opportunities to compete for league championships and playoffs.

  • Exposure to college, semi-professional, and professional scouts.

  • A true promotion-and-relegation environment that mirrors many of the world's top football leagues.

At Alpha Futbol, our First Team proudly represents the club in the UPSL Premier Division, providing our players with a clear pathway from the academy to high-level men's competition.

Competing in the UPSL Premier Division

Alpha Futbol proudly competes in the UPSL Premier Division as a member of the Texas Central Conference. During the regular season, we face top clubs from the San Antonio area while competing for a place in the conference playoffs.

Teams that qualify advance beyond the regular season to face the best clubs from other Texas conferences. Conference Champions then compete for the UPSL Texas Championship, with the Texas Champion advancing to the UPSL National Tournament, beginning with the Round of 32.

The road to a national title is simple:

Texas Central Conference → Texas Playoffs → Texas Champion → National Round of 32 → Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → UPSL National Championship.

Every match brings Alpha Futbol one step closer to competing against the nation's best amateur clubs.
